Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen discusses the poker game over Stuttgart's Nick Woltemade. He believes the positions between the clubs aren't hardened. Will there be a meeting soon? It's unclear. Yet he still voices quiet criticism of VfB's behavior.

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen cannot understand the tough stance of Bundesliga rival VfB Stuttgart in the case of Nick Woltemade. "We made an offer, but it hasn't led to any discussions yet. And we don't understand that," he said at the opening of the special exhibition "20 Years of the Allianz Arena."

In general, however, he "reluctantly talks about players from other clubs," the Bayern boss continued: "Currently, Nick Woltemade is a player for VfB Stuttgart. And we'll see how things develop." Dreesen was asked whether it was normal for a club to demand a certain transfer fee before negotiations. "I wouldn't even say whether something is normal or abnormal. I think our industry is so crazy that everything is normal."

Is there still an offer from FC Bayern?

Bayern had offered €50 million plus a €5 million bonus for the young star. Stuttgart reportedly won't start talks until the player can reach at least €65 million. The 23-year-old Woltemade returned to training with VfB on Monday.

Dreesen did not rule out another move by the record champions. Media had recently reported that it was rather unlikely, partly because Stuttgart had once again made it clear that it was very likely that Woltemade would be on the hunt for goals for VfB this season. Dreesen emphasized, however, that he did not want to speak of hardened ties between the two clubs.

On Wednesday, Bayern completed the signing of Luis Díaz from Liverpool FC. Dreesen spoke of a "clear statement. We have been able to bring in one of the best Premier League wingers," he said. The Colombian is "a player who not only gives us dynamism on the left side, is a strong dribbler, creates new game situations, but also provides goals and assists."
